On my fastest lap in qualifying, I wanted to go on my own and try and get a decent place. I was speaking to Dani King and Jo Smith on my team and told them I was going to go as fast as I think I can through the corners, and I’ll try and hang on to them on the straight coming back into the finish.

Wow. I went hot into the first corner. It really shocked me. When you go hot into corners, they send you a different way. I think it was actually worse than the third corner, which if you took super wide and then cut back in, it doesn’t throw you. I qualified 17th for the final. I’m not happy. I’m not disappointed. I’m indifferent.

I’m going to get out of this sweaty skinsuit, and I’ll probably just chill out and take my mind off of the qualifying. Usually I have two skinsuits, but I just have one today. So I’ll just have to air it out and wear it tonight for the final. My shammy will be blowing in the wind putting off all of the spectators.
